Doorbells, bell pushes, push buttons, bell-pulls, desk bells and accessories

Our range of traditionally styled door bells & door bell pushes includes both electrically & mechanically opperated units in a range of finishes & colours.

Generally our electric door bells can be installed in three ways

A traditional wired installation using a transformer & comprising the following

1. a transformer that converts the 240v power supply to a lower voltage typically 12volts,
2. a door bell or door chime which produces the audible sound when someone rings the doorbell,
3. a doorbell button that when pressed completes the electrical circuit to the door bell which make the sound,
4. The interconnecting wiring between the door bell & the push button.

A traditional wired installation using a battery power supply & comprising the following

1. a door bell or door chime with a battery compartment which produces the audible sound when someone rings the doorbell,
2. a doorbell button that when pressed completes the electrical circuit to the door bell which make the sound,
3. The interconnecting wiring between the door bell & the push button.

A wireless installation using a battery power supply & comprising the following

1. a door bell or door chime with a battery compartment & a radio frequency receiver which produces the audible sound when someone rings the doorbell,
2. a doorbell button that when pressed produces a radio frequency signal which is received by the bell unit which then makes the sound.

Where possible we have marked the various bell units & door bell push buttons to indicate the installation type.

We would not recommend that you use any of our illuminated door bell press buttons with the battery operated bell units. The light within the illuminated press buttons is permanently on & will rapidly flatten the batteries in the bell unit.

We would always recommend that you use a suitably qualified & competent electrician to carry out any electrical installations.

Mechanical door bells do not need an electrical supply & are generally connected via a metal cable & a series of pulleys.

Our full range of bells can be found below while our range of door bell push buttons & pulls can be found in the doorbell push buttons & pulls section of our web site.
